Making of the Mongol Pencil

• Slats - Woodblocks are sawed into "slats", each one half the thickness of a finished pencil.
• Grooving -- Each slat is machine grooved to secure the pencil lead.
• Lead Laying -- Pencil "lead", a fragile mixture of clay and graphite, is place into the grooves of the bottom slat.
• Gluing -- A second grooved slat is glued on top of the leaded slat, forming a "sandwich". Each sandwich is held tightly together in pneumatic clamps until the glue dries.
• Clamping -- After 8 or more hours, the clamps are then removed and the rough edges trimmed.
• Shaping -- A high-speed machinery is then used to shape and cut the slat sandwiches into individual pencils.
• Coating -- Several coats of non-toxic finish are applied to each pencil. Excess paint at the pencils tip is removed.
• Stamping/Shouldering -- The brand name "Mongol" is then heat-stamped onto one face of the pencil.
• Ferrule insertion -- A shoulder is cut into one end of the pencil to accept the "ferrule", a metal device that secures the eraser tip, which is inserted into the pencil end and is then clinched to the wood.
• Eraser insertion -- An eraser is then inserted into the ferrule. The finished product is distributed in the market.

On Teacher's Day.....

Yesterday,My Classmates and I had forgotten that Sept. 17 is ''Teacher's day'' until our reading subject teacher said it.so we planned surprise for our Adviser -As a team, we wrote A ''HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY'' big greeting on the Blackboard with colored chalks and we,19 students (supposed to be 21,but there are 2 absents),wrote down short messages to our Adviser,and of course,we cleaned our surroundings and align our seats vertically and horizontally.we did it all just for 10 minutes only.

We turn off the lights,hide beside/under the table and when our adviser opened the door - "Happy Teacher's Day!''- our adviser didn't expected that surprise!

After the Class,it was dismissal,our adviser told us to stop by the school office to greet our principal and some teachers inside.instead,we went to the Nursery classroom up to the Fourth year High-school classroom and office just to greet the teachers.

It was so tiring after all.But It's OK it's Teacher's Day!

This Afternoon, Our Adviser announced the "Top 21" students.
When it's Time for the 5 students (that includes me) to be announced,the fifth- ,the fourth- ,the third- ,the second- and the last-ME!I am the Top 1! even though it's for the first quarter only,I am still Happy!
